Flower Head

I have had a slight obsession lately (well for a while really) with flowers, on heads and faces. I still have not
completely figured out why this interests me so much...but I've been drawing them over and over. I'm sure I will continue to do so, until I do figure it out. That's how it works it seems.

These latest images, I am pretty happy with, and will likely be available in the shop soon, as prints.

Big floral bouffants almost enveloping the entire person, in soft pastel colors.
I feel there will be more, I'm not done with these ladies yet.

Seasons Quilt

I finally finished this quilt, I started and really almost completed a few years ago.
I had sewn and pieced it all together, even started on the hand-quilting, but for about 2-3 years, it just sat
unfinished in my craft room..taking up precious space.
It really took just a few nights in front of the tv, and it was done!
Now we have this cute lap quilt, and I have a tiny bit less clutter in the
craft room! Which is always important.
The adorable embroidery patterns came from
I started with these first, years ago, not sure what I'd do with the finished embroidery....
and by the time I finished, knew they would be part of a quilt.
So, it's never too late to finish up those old projects. You'll be done before you know it,
and wonder why you hadn't done it sooner!
It starts to get addicting, finding these projects, b/c they sometimes require, even just 5 minutes of your time
and then you feel accomplished, and get to move that "thing to do" off your list, and off your craft table!

New new new!

I have not posted on here for quite a while, I have been very busy over on my other blog,
small world land , which I have been working on with my friend Sarah.

But I have been busy working on lot's of thing to share.
As I was going through the disaster of my craft room, and trying to reinstate order,
I came across a ridiculous amount of unfinished projects.  Some of these projects were
so close to completion, I couldn't believe they had been sitting so long unfinished.
So maybe it's the newness of the new year, but I decided to make this year, the year of finishing
things.  I have been successful so far, and have fun stuff to share.
It is also making me feel so accomplished to get these things finished and off the craft table!

First off, I have to share, some new plush I had dreamt up, but had yet to sew.
Here they are, the Flower Power Gnomes and Friends.

So more to come.

Who's hiding in those bricks?

It seems there are lots of characters hiding in these old bricks.

The owl, I have been noticing for months. The fish and the hippo, were more a surprise once I viewed the photo.
Now that I've posted, I am starting to see some more in those bricks above. Circus animals it seems.
hmmmm.
I may be back with more.

Inspiration

Sometimes I see something over and over again, and think to myself, that blob there looks like something. I usually go on my way, and leave it at that. But sometimes, I am just dying to make the blob or shape or whatever, into whatever it is I want to see!
So this is just a tiny little bit of brick, stuck in a wall in our backyard. That tiny blob in the middle, totally looks like a little bird to me. I see it all the time, so finally I had to do something about it.
So yes, I photographed it.

Then saw some of the kids chalk sitting out.  I attempted to bring this bird to life.
Of course, the chalk was too big, and clumsy to really do what I wanted. But I was still happy seeing this for a few days.
But this I wasn't going to stop there.

Ahh, Thank you photoshop. There he is.

This is really addicting, I am going to post more of these.
